Pillows for Patients

Students enrolled in Health Science classes with Mrs. Walden and Mrs. Woo made hand sewn pillows for breast cancer patients.  These pillows are given to breast cancer patients following a mastectomy.  The purpose of the pillow is to place the pillow between the incision and the seat belt in a vehicle in order to not have additional pressure put onto the incision and to prevent the seat belt from rubbing on the incision, thus reducing pain.

The majority of the approximately 240 pillows sewn will be donated to the Sutter Roseville Breast Health Center as they are currently in need of them.
