Common Core Standards

Common Core

Over the course of this school year and into next, you may hear the phrase "Common Core Standards"  often.  As a state, California has elected to move from our older state standards to the nationally adopted  Common Core Standards or CCSS.  In some instances, there are minor differences in the skills your student will learn as they access the content of their coursework.  While in some areas, there maybe more substantial differences in the skills your student is learning.  There are a great number of resources available to help understand the new standards and how they will help your student access the most relevant educational skills for their success at Rio Linda High School and beyond to the world of college and career.

We hope that the information available on this page will help you answer the questions that might  arise from our shift  to the Common Core Standards.
