ASB Candidates for 2016-2017
Mason Hess, your next ASB President, is a responsible leadership veteran of 3 years. As Student Body President, Mason plans on increasing school spirit and managing the clubs and sports on campus to the best of his abilities. He was Junior Class President this year, and realizes how hard he will have to work in order to keep the school running in pristine order. Make sure to ask Mason about any questions you may have about anything happening at Rio Linda, he’s your guy!
ASB Vice President
Nia Powell, a leadership veteran of 2 years, is aspiring to be Rio Linda’s next ASB Vice President and wants to increase school participation in rallies and continue volunteering her time to her community. Nia states that she is great with time management and is able to multitask well, making her a strong woman for the job. When asked if she would rather be able to fly or become invisible, Nia stated that she would rather fly so that she would be an “active participant” and not “in the background.”
Lane Kuykendall, a leadership veteran of 3 years, certainly qualifies to be your next ASB Secretary. He likes to take initiative and gets things done at the best of his ability. When asked if he would rather be able to fly or be invisible, he stated that he would rather fly because he would want to be noticed by everyone and not just hide away. To better Rio Linda High school , lane wants to get more input from his fellow peers to make sure everyone one gets heard. As ASB Secretary, Lane plans on keeping organized to make things run efficiently. He currently holds a 3.75 GPA and is working on maintaining his gpa while making RLHS a better place.
Abigail is a hard working student ready to fulfill next year's ASB Treasurer position. She has been in a leadership class since the fourth grade and is very efficient in watching and maintaining her schedule. When asked if she would rather be able to fly or be invisible, she said invisible so she could keep an eye on certain people and make sure they are staying on task and being responsible. She has many ideas to help better Rio Linda High School, a few being getting more personal with the clubs we offer, help ensure voices are heard, and improve everyone’s Club Rush experience. She would also like to help improve our community by setting up volunteer work such as creek clean ups, country fairs, and other community service projects. She currently has a 3.2 GPA and plans to continue keeping her grades up while improving the school and community.
Class of 2017 President
Kayle Hall is eager and well prepared to become the next year's Senior Class President. She has stressed many options for fundraising and making the next school year full of fun and memorable activities. When asked if she’d rather be able to fly or be invisible she said fly because she would want to be somewhere really fast and could be seen and get the word out easily. She has also said she wants to boost our school spirit and participation in school activities such as rallies, sporting events, etc.
Class of 2017 President
Hannah Escue is an outgoing and knowledgeable student and a great choice for Senior Class President. She has many connections in the Senior Class of 2017 and plans to use those to help get information out to the school and help inform more about school activities. When asked whether she’d rather be able to fly or be invisible she answered fly because she would want to be able to be anywhere at any time and it could help her inform more people about school activities. She wants to make a great and memorable senior year and has some great ideas to achieve the high goals she has set for herself. She plans to boost the school spirit and participation and do more to help better our community and school campus. Hannah has above a 3.0 GPA and can manage the difficult task of being class president and maintaining good grades next school year.
Nuni Olander (Joleen Smith)
Class of 2017 Vice President
Joleen Smith is an outgoing , friendly and involved student. She has many great ideas that will not only better Rio Linda High School, but also her community. With Joleen being a member of many clubs and also a runner on the track team, she knows how to multitask and handle anything that is being thrown at her. One of the things that she would like to better for next year is the student involvement and would like to hear what her peers have to say. When asked if she would rather be able to fly or be invisible, Joleen stated that she would rather be able to fly because it fits the type of personality she has and she likes the idea of being able to be free. Joleen, with the help of her peers, would like to help the people, animals, and plants of her community.
Class of 2017 Secretary
Dinah-Marie Dumpson is certainly a very outgoing, fun, and very approachable person. When she lived in North Carolina, she was a part of the Future Business Leaders of America, which is another reason she would like to be a part of Rio Linda High School's student council. Dinah plans on unifying the student body as a whole, boost morale and school spirit. She would like to represent her school by getting involved to help make a difference.
Class of 2017 Treasurer
Joseph is incredibly interested in creating a sense of financial stability for his graduating class. Joseph is highly experienced in fund raising, and has multiple ideas that have very high potential of success. Joseph is very outgoing, with a respectful attitude. His main goal is to assist in raising enough money for his class to smoothly pay for activities such as ball, senior sunrise, senior sunset and many other senior activities. As far as bettering our campus, Joseph also has many ideas for school spirit and participation. When asked if he would rather fly or be invisible, Joseph answered with "Probably fly, because it would wby cool and I could get places faster and get more done". Overall, he is a wonderful candidate and has great potential for the position that he is running for.
Class of 2018 President
Kenzie is an outgoing and exceptionally skilled sophomore who is ready to fulfill her job as the class of 2018 president for the next school year. Her bubbly demeanor allows her to fit in well with all crowds, as well as give off a welcoming atmosphere. When asked what her goals are as a president, Kenzie answered with "I want to increase my class' participation and increase their spirit". As a leadership veteran of one year, she has all skills required in successfully running a graduating class, and poses I as an excellent candidate for next year's junior class president.
Class of 2018 Vice President
Jordynn is currently the Sophomore Class Secretary and would like to take the next step and become Vice President next year. Her being a student athlete definitely shows her multitasking skills, as well as her time management. She currently holds a 4.1 GPA, and plans on only improving, while helping out her school and community. One of her priorities is to fundraise to be able to be able to have enough for school activities. She certainly meets all the qualifications to be a great Vice President.
Class of 2019 President
Alexander is a friendly student looking to utilize his public speaking skills and year of experience working with other Twin Rivers leaders as your future Sophomore Class President. Alexander has a 4.0 GPA, and wants to be President in order to better himself as well as better his school and community. He plans on creating a more exciting Club Rush to get students involved, as well as give back to the Rio Linda community by helping the homeless population. Class of 2019 Vice President
Ethan Wilson is an outgoing freshman ready to take on his duties as Sophomore Class Vice President in the year to come. Ethan asserts that with his public speaking skills and friendly face, he will be able to increase school spirit and participation, and give back to his community. When asked whether he would rather fly or be invisible, Ethan said he would rather fly so that he “could get places faster,” and be as efficient as possible. He currently has a 3.33 GPA and plans on continuing to keep such a great GPA while leading his peers to the best of his ability.
Class of 2019 Treasurer
Kate is an incredibly outgoing and spontaneous Rio Linda High School leadership veteran of a year who is interested in filling next year's position of 2019 treasurer. Kate has been involved in leadership classed for multiple years, and has many skills that she would like to put to use. She is interested in school spirit and well as participation and intends on improving them. As an upcoming sophomore, Kate is interested in raising money for her class for the following years as upper class men, as well as raising money for this year's activities and rallies. Kate is a focused and work driven individual who shows signs of being a highly successful class treasurer.
