Les Belles Artes Club, Inc Scholarship: Art scholarship (Visual, Performing, and/or Writing) for high school seniors. Deadline: April 1, 2010. See Ms. Xiong for an application.

Northminster Presbyterian Church Scholarship: High school age students in the Sacramento area who have been active in working to promote peace and reconciliation in the community. Award: 2 awards of $800.00 each. Deadline: April 9, 2010. See Ms. Xiong for an application.

Susan M. Hunter Scholarship: High school senior of corrections employee with a minimum of 3.00 GPA. Award: $1,000. Apply online at www.asca.net. Deadline: March 31, 2010. 

Department of Human Assistance Scholarship Program: Graduating high school seniors living in Sacramento County from low-income families pursuing a college education. Must be a U.S. citizen of Sacramento County. Graduating high school senior from Class of 2010. Minimum GPA of 2.50. Must be on public assistance or low-income. Deadline: March 19, 2010. LGBT Caucus: Graduating 2010 high school senior is a Sacramento County Resident; enrolled in a 2 or 4-year college or trade school; minimum GPA of 2.5; Award: $250. Deadline: May 1, 2010. See Ms. Xiong for an application.

Youth Automobile Safety Scholarship Program: Essay competition on ways to reduce the accident rate amont teenagers for high school seniors who are children of full-time or retired public employees. Award: $500 to $1500. Deadline: April 5, 2010. Apply online: http://www.CSEinsurance.com

Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year (SAMMY) Award Program: High school seniors based on academic performance, athletic excellence, leadership, community serice and milk experience. Award: $7,500 college scholarship, invitation to the SAMMY 2010 awards weekend, and an opportunity to be pictured in a special congratulatory Milk Mustache ad in June 2010. Deadline: March 5, 2010. Sacramento Region Community Foundation: 17 scholarships available to high school seniors who will graduate from a Sacramento County high school, plan to attend an accredited 2 or 4-year college, be a full-time student, and demonstrate financial need. Award: Ranges Apply:www.sacregcf.org

North and North Central District: High school seniors pursuing career studies in any related Family and Consumer Science field (Consumer Science, Child Development, Food Science, Fashion Design). Award: 3 at $300 each. Apply:www.aafcs-ca.org

 

 ITT Technical Institute 2010 High School Scholarship: Available to graduating senior in high school; 2.0 GPA and attend an ITT Technical Institute; Award: 8 @ $5000 to each individual; Must complete app; 2 letters of recommendation; and an essay. Please see Ms. Xiong for application 

 

Ayn Rand Essay Scholarships: Available to 9th - 12th grade students; Criteria: Read the book required on the website and answer an essay; essay must be no fewer than 800 words and no more than 1600 words; Amount: $2000 for 9th and 10th; $10,000 for 11th and 12th grades; apply online at http://www.aynrand.org/contests

Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program: Available for high school seniors. Grant of $1,000.  Requirments of a full-time high school currently enrolled at a high school within a Comcast Community. Student grade pint average of 2.8 or higher. Strong commitment to and involvement in community service. If a student does not have access to a computer, email Comcast@applyists.com for a hard copy form.

California Wine Grape Growers Foundation: Available to graduating seniors; have a parent or legal guardian who is/was a vineyard employee of a wine grape grower during the 2009 or 2010 season; Award: 2 - $1000 per year for 4 years at any CA state or university; 4-$500 per year for 2 years at any CA community college; Apply online at www.cwggf.org; Deadline: April 2, 2010

Jerome Holland Scholarship: Five scholarships are awarded annually $20,000 for out-of-state students and $10,000 for students in Virginia. African-American applicants (based on their academic performance, leadership capabilities, and potential as role models for their peers) are invited to Grounds to compete for the scholarship. Walter N. Ridley Scholarship: The Black Alumni Association sponsors this scholarship designed to support African American students. Several scholarships ranging from $2,500-$10,000 are awarded to students after they accepted their admission to the University of Virginia. Italian Catholic Federation: Students of Roman Catholic graduating seniors of Italian descent with at least a GPA of 3.2. Award: $400.00. Deadline: March 15, 2010. Apply online at www.icf.org.

American Slavic Social Club Scholarship: High school senior whose ancestry is of the country formerly known as Yugoslavia, is a U.S. citizen, and attends an accredited high school within 25 mile radius of Sacramento are encouraged to apply to this scholarship. Must have a 3.5 GPA or higher and plan to enroll in a full-time college program. Must submit 2 letters of recommendation, a transcript, and an autobiographical essay. Award: $1,000. SAFE Credit Union Scholarship: College-bound seniors in the greater Sacramento area with at least a 3.0 GPA. Award: 10 scholarships of $1,000 each. Deadline: April 5, 2010. Please see Ms. Xiong for an application.
