Come and support the winning Men's Volleyball team! Next Tuesday, May 1st, the team will host a home game. The game promises to be exciting and will feature the Senior Players. The team has a 7-2 record and appreciates your support! Go Knights!

Congratulations to all! RLHS Site Council Special ElectionRio Linda High School is accepting applications for a special election of the School's Site Council. Click here to learn more and access the nomination form. 2012 Knowledge BowlThe Rio Linda High School Knowledge Bowl team successfully defended their title to win the 2012 Knowledge Bowl. Shirley Yang, Albert Olivarria, Albert Delgado, Rita Sattanak, Avleen Gill, and Riley Harris led the Knights to victory for the second straight year. Highlands High School came in second, and Foothill High School came in third.

RLHS Students Compete in Skills USAEleven students from Mr. Shield's program competed in the February Region Competition for Skills USA. The students earned 7 gold and 4 silver medals. Congratulations to all! Click here to read more details. Academic DecathlonCongratulations to the RLHS Academic Decathlon team! The Sacramento County hosted an awards banquet on February 8th for the competitors. Our hard-working team placed 11th out of 25 schools, the highest ranking ever achieved by Rio Linda High School. RLHS placed ahead of Highlands and Foothill High Schools to be the top team from our district. Three seniors, Elizabeth Craig, Albert Delgado and Albert Olivarria were awarded for their efforts. Elizabeth took home the top scoring team member honors. Albert Olivarria, won a bronze medal for performance in language & literature. And, Albert Delgado was given the team leadership award. Founded in 1981, the United States Academic Decathlon (USAD) is the most prestigious high school academic team competition in the United States. Its purpose is to develop and provide academic competitions, curriculum, and assessment to promote learning and academic excellence through teamwork among students of all achievement levels. Each year, high school students compete as school teams and as individuals in a series of scholastic events. Winning teams advance through local, regional, and state levels of competition. The state champions compete at the national finals. (Coach’s Handbook SCOE) support student leadership and show your school spirit!

The Yearbooks are Coming!It’s time to buy your 2012 Rio Linda High School yearbook! If you have prepaid for your book, distribution will begin on Wednesday, May 16th, in S-1. Please bring your receipt and/or student id to pick up your book. Books will be distributed during lunch and after school.
Sales for the 2012 Rio Linda High School yearbook will start on Thursday, May 17th. Books can be purchased in the Student Center for $75. Cash, money orders, or cashier’s checks only can be accepted.
